Embedded Systems Conference, Day Two

Less sunny, less warm, and thus, slightly more bearable to be stuck inside -- at least this morning. By this afternoon, when we ducked out for lunch, it was beautiful again.

I've been impressed, so far, with the presenters -- both yesterday's and today's have actually done an amazing job of presenting dry material as if it were honestly exciting (and to be fair, it is, to them). Neither has felt duty bound to stick strictly to their notes, either, which I consider to be a good thing. I mean...I have the notes...

No chance, so far, to be touristy -- two days of all-day sessions really doesn't leave much energy or time for it. I could have really used a nap, but didn't get one. Might try to get to bed earlier, tho'.

No wifi in the classrooms, which is probably just as well, given how easily I can be distracted. There's wifi elsewhere on site, so I might be online during the day a bit the rest of the week -- Tuesday through Thursday are broken up into shorter chunks.

Meanwhile, I may be getting to see Tim and Lizard and the llama-emu hybrid, as well as ladydairine, as the week progresses. Life is good.

And lastly, it's official. San Francisco makes my feet hurt. Thirteen years ago, I spent a day tramping around the city and the rest of the week with blisters. This time 'round, I haven't done nearly so much walking, but apparently, it's enough, as my shoes really could use replacing.
