car, phone, internet and BIRTHDAY!!!
So in the last two weeks my car got smunched, my cell quit acknowledging in-coming calls, I had a birthday and my internet went down.
I heart Ray at Central Avenue Autobody. I got my car back last evening and she looks so perdy.
I have spent HOURS on the phone with the tech people for my phone. We tried everything at least 4 times. One lady suggested that I went out of the country and my phone was still on a Mexican tower. Idiot. A different lady said "we have tried everything numerous times, lets just send you a new phone and see if that helps. Oh, and I am crediting your account 30 dollars for the inconvenience."
I got the new phone yesterday, went to the store where Al set up the new phone. had Chase try to call it and my phone rang! Only to get up this morning to try to call it from my home phone and was back to its old games. Tried the whole power cycle thing before calling the tech support and nothing. So, I called tech support. Again. RE-set up my phone. Again. Sent texts. Received texts from her and my sister. Received phone call from techie. Was happy that cell was fixed. Hung up with tech support, walked into my kitchen, tried to call cell from home phone and my cell didnt ring. Tried to call home phone from cell, "this phone must be set up before this call can be completed. Message 1012." WTF?!?!?!
I got BACK on the home phone with tech support, told the whole 9 days worth of story to techie, told them "I am not mad at you as a person but I am furious with this company. I have been a loyal customer for 8 years and I am ready to say 'fuck it' and go somewhere else if you cant fix this problem. I litterally just got off the phone not 10 mintes ago and the problem is back. I have been pretty calm throught this whole week long process but I am VERY angry right now! FIX MY PHONE!"
Power cycle my phone. Techie askes my some questions while we wait. "did you try to call Mexico?" What?!? "No. NO! I tried to call my home phone. In Minneapolis. Which is in Minnesota. Which is one to the 50 United States. I did NOT try to call Mexico. Techie goes through the same steps I'd done dozens of times, re-set up my phone for second time in one hour. I sent a tesxt. I received a text and techie says "I'll follow up in five minutes to make sure everything is working." and Hangs up.
I called my home phone from cell. It worked. I called my cell from my home phone. It worked. I did that twice. 3 minutes after I got off the phone with techie, my cell rings and its techie asking if my phone works. And I does, for the moment. I'm not holding my breath.
Three and a half hours later I think my phone is still working. We'll see in the morning.
Oh, and the router thats between my computer and modem wasnt working properly. Power cycled that and I now have internet again. Ha! listen to me using computer jargon like its my first language.
And I had a very lovely birthday. The whole day was just wahat I needed. Work was ok. I got a house pland, chocolate and a baooln deliverd to me at work from my parents. the rest of the day everyone that walked by wished my happy birthday. I had a lovely walk and then off to MHS meeting to say "Hi" before heading out to Ichiban's for sushi and teppanyaki. I had a fun time with Caitlin, Brian, Ken and Chase. Then Chase, my sister and I tried to get in at the 331and were rudely turned away. So we went to Stasiu's where things were hoppin' and boppin' and we ate one of the two gluten free cakes my sister made for me.
