Oh my gosh! An update! Seemed like I was well past due. Again, I apologize for just sort of, dropping off the face of the earth. It really wasn't anything personal...The last month or so has just felt like a haze to me. I'm not entirely sure why. Partially because I've been very busy, even when I haven't been busy in the sense of having lots of things to do, my mind has been really busy. I've just been overflowing with great ideas about my research project(s).
So I injured my hand at the start of October. I gave myself some really bad liquid N2 burns on my left index finger and left thumb. It was really embarrassing, but it also really hurt. THe burns turned into huge swollen blisters, which a doctor then removed for me. The removal was exactly as horrific as you might imagine it to be (she just snipped them off! suuuuper gross!), however it was virtually painless and with the blisters gone my hand totes stopped hurtin'. Unfortunately I still huge, gaping open wounds on my hand from where the blisters once were, so I had to have my hand wrapped for about a month. Also because of these wounds being very sensitive I really couldn't even use that hand, which made many things virtually impossible. Anyhow, my hand has healed up now, and I've almost regained all sensation in the fingers. But yeah, it was an annoying experience! I think I'm more safety consciousness now though.
I've been super into chickens recently. I mean, that isn't that unusual for me, but I've been really into them as of late. I bought a book on Amazon called "The Fairest Fowl" that has pictures of championship chickens, and I keep it at work. I've also recently decided that when I finally get the chance to have a yard, I am gonna build a coop (or hire some big, strong man to do it for me) and raise my own fancy chickens. Preferably showgirls.
John and I are coming home for Xmas, I'll be there for prolly 8 days or so, john a little less but we both really hope to see all of you idiots! We do miss you very much. Someone let Rebecca and Andrew know?
