So, it's been a while. Let me catch you up real fast.
- In case you didn't hear, Mike and I were on a break for about two weeks, but now we're back together and everything is fine and perfect and wonderful. Not that it wasn't amazing before, but we, or I, just needed to work some things out. At any rate, we're great. I can't believe that we almost broke up - actually, I really can't believe it, because it wouldn't have worked, for either of us. He started Fire Academy last week, and it sounds like although it's going to be challenging, he's really going to enjoy it, and I'm so excited for him. I have THE BEST boyfriend EVER. Sorry Shelbs, and even you Amy, there's just no contest. :-D
- Classes are going okay. I, like Shelbi, am very behind. I think the combo of having later classes, a social life, guard, and not having nightly homework is going to kill me, if I don't revamp my study habits. But I'm not sure what to think of my architecture classes yet. I wish I could think of a better way to use what I think is my real talent - writing essays. i've always been a bit of a grammar freak, and I really don't mind writing once I actually sit down and do it. I wonder how much of that I would do in architecture, and if I should use it to pick up a minor somewhere, like maybe Art History or something. We'll see.
- My first Oracle show is February 5th, and IT'S AT CHATFIELD!!! I'm psyched, my first winterguard performance not with Chatfield, and it's at my high school. I can see my guard, and everyone at CSH, and, call me vain, but they can see how much better I've gotten, hopefully. I know I'll be a little nervous. But, if you want to come see me, you should, it'll be fun.
- I'm a CU Ambasssador, aka the people who give tours of the university and welcome prospective students in all the programs they have. I'm excited, it should be really fun and a great way to meet people and work on my public speaking skills, not to mention get to know my university inside out. I'm only required to do one 1-hour tour a week too, so not a lot of commitment. Perfect way for me to get involved.
- I just today submitted my app to Bear Creek - along with everyone else - and I'm all set to have a place to live next year! It feels so good to have it set, I just have to sign the leasing stuff, but we're in. And I am SO EXCITED I can't stop talking about it, just ask Carrie or Jenny, my ROOMIES!! WAHOO!!
- I had to go to the hospital with my roomate this morning. Don't be scared, it was nothing really serious. She fainted because she was sick and deydrated, and hit her head on a drinking fountain. She was only out for a mintue or two, but we called the paramedics and such to make sure she was alright, and they ended up taking her to the emergency room and giving her an IV and getting her checked out. Her cut wasn't that bad either, it remeinded me of the one I got this summer form hitting myself with a sabre during a run. ;-) So, since we couldn't exactly ride with her in the ambulance, we hopped on the Skip and rode the bus over there. I could only stay for like 40 minutes, I had class, and was missing class as it was to be there, but I wanted to make sure she was okay, and most importantly be there for her, because that's gotta be scary as hell. But she's fine, and back here now, so all is good.
And that's my life as of right now. :-) All in all, things are pretty darn good. More to come soon!
