So I just bought this Ann Taylor dress on e-bay and I can't wait to wear it!!! I can pair it with a jacket for work, a cardigan for brunch, church, easter, etc. And it's herringbone! The pics are protected so I can't post them here but here is the link to the ebay listing:
Lady Dress! And I won these 50's vintage sewing patterns! First, because I want to have a simple, vintage wedding dress made for my wedding instead of spending $1000 or more on some crazy dress. Second, I want to learn to sew some time in the near future and I can use these patterns to make my own awesome vintage wardrobe! Here is the link to the listing, it comes with 25 patterns! I like the first two for potential dress ideas. But they would be made with solid white fabric of course - and in the first dress I don't want the belt or the holes across the top.
Vintage Patterns At the moment I'm bidding on this pattern... I think this might be the front runner for my wedding dress at the moment. In white of course.
40s Pattern Any thoughts? I'd be wearing these w/ the white gloves of course and the hairpiece with a birdcage veil.
If these dresses happen to strike you as a little informal - Ralph and I have decided to have a simple wedding. When I come home in two weeks I'm actually going to go check out the 94th Aerosquadron. I've only been there once and I don't remember much about it except that it was pretty nice. They have numerous patios you can get married on (which they will decorate for you) and a brand new banquet hall. They also couldn't be more affordable! Their "all inclusive" wedding package includes EVERYTHING:
- Champagne Toast
- Fruit and Cheese Display with Crackers
- A Selection of 4 Chilled & Hot Hors D’ Oeuvres
- A Complete Five-Hour Open Bar with Premium Brand Alcohol
- Specialty Wedding Cake (from Cakes by Edda)
- Floral Centerpieces (Based on 10 guests per Table)
- Choice of Linen Colors
- Chair Covers with Bow or Tassel
- Patio Garden for Cocktail Reception with Linen
And the plates start at $58/person for all this! I can't believe it! I could have a wedding with 100 people for under $10,000. That is a dream come true for me because I hate that my parents have to even pay for this in the first place. And in keeping with the vintage theme, if it's going to be at the 94th, I think it would be really cute to send out Casablanca-inspired invitations.
Anyway it's bed time! I've been totally sleep deprived this week! I'll write more about things later.
