More excited than nervous for tomorrow

Mar 16, 2008 20:25

I am SO ready for my first day of work tomorrow! I hope I’m able to fall asleep tonight. Three months of retirement was enough for me.

I was already back to my energetic self today. (I was turning into such a bum not having anything to do everyday! No school - no job - no car..) I drove to Manassas with Ralph this morning for breakfast, then cleaned my house, did a million loads of laundry, ironed every piece of business attire I own, cooked up an amazing dinner completely winging it the whole way through with whatever i had in the cupboards (i need to go grocery shopping!) and i’m about to shower up and watch a movie then off to bed! I’m going to have to get used to having a bed time again.

So tomorrow should be awesome. Ralph and I will be commuting to work together in Yancy (my new Yaris). He’ll be dropping me off at the metro station every morning and heading around the corner to his job. I’ll ride the metro-rail into Pentagon City and then walk the rest of the way  to HQ. (It’s all just faster and cheaper than driving if you are wondering.)

Tomorrow they will have orientation at HQ then they are taking us across the street (literally) to the Pentagon to get our security clearance badges and from there we’ll separate into our preassigned "teams." I’m really excited to see what life will be like working as an auditor for the DoD! I hope its amazing. :)

WIsh me luck!

Love you.

Oh wait - recipie for my complete random (due to lack of available groceries) and yet fantastical dinner tonight:

"Whatever was in the cupboard" Pasta

1 green pepper
1 onion
1 can diced tomatoes (with garlic, oregano, olive oil)
1 box rotini
1 can of corn
a few cloves of garlic
olive oil
salt, pepper, and italian seasonings
sausage (however much u feel like eating)

So.. I chopped up the garlic, green pepper, and onion and sauteed it in a pan with olive oil. Seasoned it with some S&P. In a separate pan I chopped up the sausage, fried that up in a drizzle of olive oil and seasoned with salt, pepper, and italian seasonings. In a separate pot I boiled the water and made rotini.

After the onions and peppers had a few minutes to cook I opened the can of corn, drained the water from it and added it to the mix. After letting that cook for a few minutes I opened the can of diced tomatoes and threw that on top. Once it came to a boil it was finished.

Pour the sausage and the corn/tomato/pepper/onion mix into the big pot of rotini, mix it all up, and voila! Instant magnificence. Season with some parmesean cheese and crushed red pepper if you like. (I like
