I want reviews on a few authors please. Sadly, I admit I have never read anything by these guys. Looking around online at their writing styles tells me nothing about them either. So...I turn to you, LiveJournal community, for guidance.

Thank you both. I got A Long Way Down and a smallish collection of Faulkner novels. I'll dig in a bit this weekend and see how it goes. Just for grins and giggles, because I apparently like self torture, I also picked up Canterbury Tales.

Also, I want to find something to hold the attention of my 11 year old. He is reading those silly Goosebumps books like they're the hottest thing to ever be printed. I really don't have an issue with that. I just want to try to turn him on to other things. He really enjoyed A Wrinkle in Time and Eragon.

Wodehouse is one of my favorite authors favorite author. I get things like "comedic genius" from the reviews. Which, when you consider my favorite author, makes a lot of sense.

I finished She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb for the umpteenth time. I recommend it for those "I need to feel better about my life!" moments. I like him because he writes a troubled woman so well.

Thank you again! If you have any other suggestions or recommendations I would appreciate it...nothing dripping with mystery or romance though.

Now I need to find something that strikes that passion in my daughter. She prefers writing to reading.
