That last bit, about death and memories and secrets and ourselves? That really stuck home. I'd never really thought about it that way, but y'know, I think we all *do* have at least one of those secrets that we won't tell anyone because we know that the sheer wonder and joy of the thing cannot be communicated in words or pictures... and that trying to do so would simply be an insult to that memory.

As to the rest of it? I think you should be proud of the job you've done, even if it's only in pretending to be "grown up." I think you're far more mature than you give yourself credit for (definitely more emotionally and rhetorically mature than most adults)... I think somebody just forgot to tell you that grown-ups are pretty much just kids with 10-70 more years of life behind them. I don't think you will ever truly feel "grown up" until you have actually BEEN "grown up" for at least another six years. Until you realize that it's all Fate's fucking fault that *anybody* grows up, and that most of us really only pretend to be all self-sufficient and happy and wonderful.

Love you, though. And your Mexican Fiesta was brilliant. Do let's try that again sometime.
