I finished the first mitten of the pair I'm making my mother for Christmas. She's always wanted me to make her a pair, and darn it, I'm going to follow up on my promise this year. If I went at the same rate of one mitten per day, I'll be done by tomorrow.
I really hate working with worsted weight yarns when making things like socks and mittens. It looks too shabby. I prefer the finer, more finished look of sport weight or finer yarns when it comes to projects like this.
I've got Nancy Bush's Folk Knitting in Estonia, and the mittens in there are absolutely mind bogglingly beautiful. I'd like to have a go at a pair in there, but I'd like to try my hand at a sweater first! It's about time!
