Yesterday I went to the first sing held in years by the Endless Mountain Shapenote Singers group. Only a few people showed, but we had a good leader who came all the way from Levittown, PA to help us out. He had come down from New Hampshire where he was recording with the
Village Harmony singers. We both knew the same people from the Manhattan sing and a few others that have visited that particular sing. I really need to get back to the Manhattan sing.
I really hope this local sing takes off so that I can have two sings a month without breaking my bank account. It was very different only being able to sing with a small group, much more difficult and not nearly as profoundly moving, but still a relief to the soul. I am determined to sing once a month, at the least. It really does help. I just hope my throat cooperates, as I am still not feeling at all very well.
I am not going to R-day this year because of my uncooperative health. Bah.

Now shall my inward joys arise,
And burst into a song;
Almighty love inspires my heart,
And pleasure tunes my tongue.
