I haven't updated in forever.. but I guess I should probably update sooner or later because big news!!!

My family recently threw a graduation party for my brother, cousin Leah and myself in upstate New York. Chris's parents came up from Mississippi and my entire family was there along with some friends from school. Right after cake, Chris pulled a box he carved out of the giftbag he was holding. He got down on one knee and said he wanted to ask me in front of my entire family since he knew how special they are to me and opened the box to reveal a gorgeous ring with a ribbon tied around it. (I later found out that the ribbon was there so that if he accidentally dropped it he could find it/pick it up easier.) My grandpas both started tearing up and a couple of my aunts were crying. I was so happy, but shaking like a leaf.. too much excitement!! (I of course said yes)...

I had found out about a month and a half beforehand when Chris's old Kalamazoo roommate Shawn clued me in on the New York plans.. I had started placing things together and he pretty much confirmed any suspicion I had. I probably would have cried (in joy and surprise) if I hadn't known... I am such a girl.

So now wedding planning seems to be mostly up to me now... as Chris said he has fulfilled his obligation ;) I have no clue as to what state we are even getting married in. We don't have a date either, but both want to be married around summertime maybe next year.

He's moving in with me in Toledo and we are going to live in my apartment until the lease is up and then think about getting something a little more out in the country away from city life.. not rural stix though.. I draw my line 30min from a mall. I think ?Waterville, OH may look promising.. but still apprehensive... I still don't know the area too well...

I've been working for the same client since day 2. Tower Automotive offered mem a position around Easter but I declined.. but I'm still working for them as a consultant. It works well for me. I've made friends up here and I have a routine that includes working out at curves and occasionally tanning at The Hot Spot if it's crappy outside. I definitely stay busy up here and I enjoy it. The people are good to me and I don't have too many complaints. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express long enough to have free upgrades for my room so I currently have a 2 room suite for little me.

Chris came up to visit last night on his bike (even with the rain).. and it was so nice (even though he was soaked to the bone).. We had lunch this afternoon and he went back to Flint (1.5 hours away) so that he could make his meeting with Lucy King, a professor at Kettering. He's in his last semester - taking one legitimate course Phys 2 and 2 independent study courses (or so he hopes.. the meeting was to ensure he had the 2nd independent study).

Well.. time's winding down.. time to go do my curves workout and face the scales today (probably up a pound or two due to my gluttenous eating over vacation)...
