Mark Got Called Up!

He's #7 according to the roster! That's a number we haven't seen from him yet.

Moeller sent to Louisville: The Reds made no deals at Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET non-waiver trade deadline. The club's only roster move was sending third catcher Chad Moeller outright to Triple-A Louisville. The contract of veteran infielder Mark Bellhorn was selected from Louisville.

...

Bellhorn was signed by the Reds to a Minor League contract on Jan. 22 but did not make the club out of Spring Training. The 32-year-old veteran of six big-league clubs batted .243 with 11 home runs and 53 RBIs in 88 games for Louisville while playing primarily at second base and shortstop.

"This will give us another pinch-hitter off the bench and a bit more latitude with double switches," Mackanin said. "He's a switch-hitter with the ability to hit a home run off the bench."

Moeller flew with the club to Washington and was not informed of the move until about three hours before game time. Bellhorn was already in town and available for Tuesday's game.

"We just felt we'd go with Bellhorn instead of Chad for the time being," general manager Wayne Krivsky said. "That decision was made this afternoon."
