[LOGS] Dundee Game: Day Three, Late

#hotelnotcalifornia

The journey to the city Dundee goes mostly without incident, if you ignore the possibility of underaged lesbian sex in the trunk and the ninja on the roof. IT IS A VERY EFFICIENT AND FAST RIDE fuck yeah \m/ Germany pulls the car up to a darkened motel on the outskirts of the city, parking very efficiently, precisely between the lines.

* Kaname opens door and steps out of the car.

Elli (well, Elluka) gets out of the front seat, stumbling a little.

* Itachi hops down off the roof of the car.

* Belphegor gets out of the car after Kaname.

* Raidou hops out of the car and looks around for Tam Lin so he can change back.

* Germany gets out of the car AND INSPECTS HIS PARKING just in case.

Elluka goes around and opens the trunk.

A barely-pubescent blond girl sits up in the trunk, fixing her crooked glasses. "Hnnnh? We're here~?" Tristan asks.

* Rayfell postcoital cigarette smoking is going on here.

Enjoyed the ride?

"Out," Elli says, drily. "Ride's over."

* Rayfell climbs out of the trunk.

Tristan crawls out of the trunk, changing comfortably back into his preferred form as he does so. "Well," he says cheerfully. "How are we assigning rooms?"

* Rayfell pouts a little at Tristan formchanging.

"There, there," Tristan assures her.

I don't care as long as I can shower.

"Four to a room should probably be the best idea," Luka murmurs.

* Raidou blinks at Tristan formchanging, then watches as Tam Lin leaps from the car's roof, breathing a sigh of relief as Tam Lin reverses his own transformation.

* Kaname nods

"It's probably best for everybody if I have my own," Tristan smiles brightly, looking at Elluka. "And for you too, hm?"

I don't care about rooming with any of you. I just need blackout curtains... and possibly a bite to eat.

"I meant for the new eight."

* Kaname glances between Tristan and Elluka. "How did you come to know each other, anyway?"

Tristan waves a hand. "I'm sure that can wait. I'll take the lady for dinner, shall I? The rest of you can figure things out. Ta!"

I don't care as long as I get a bed to myself.

He gestures Rayfell towards the hotel.

...I have no preference as long as I get a bed.

* Rayfell follows Tristan in.

Luka shifts a little from foot to foot, pointing around. "Joshua, Joshua's friend, Itachi, and Kaname in one room . . . the other three in another . . .? We only have so much money for the rooms . . ."

"Unless somebody wants to stay with us," Luka adds absently.

And interrupt your time alone with yourself?

Luka smiles vaguely.

My, my, new horizons! Who would have thought?

I'm fine with the arraignments.

"NO." Elli makes an "X" with her arms.

It'll work.

That's acceptable.

* Raidou rubs his temples. "It's fine."

Elluka heads inside, then returns a few minutes later with two sets of keys: Joshua, Kazuki, Itachi, and Kaname get keys for #room105 ; Bel, Germany, and Raidou get keys for #room106 .

* Kaname heads to #room105

* Germany takes the keys for room 106 and goes inside.

* Itachi follows Kaname.

"Why don't we all have a rest, and I'll come get everybody in the morning to answer questions?" Elli suggests tiredly.

Yes.

* Raidou nods and moves to follow Germany, recalling Tam Lin as he goes.

* Belphegor follows Germany and Raidou.

#room106

The room is clean, reasonably-sized, but not particularly fancy. It's clearly a kinda seedy hotel, but not of the cockroach variety. There's a bathroom just off the exit, some rumbly air conditioners in the windows, a television that looks older than Joshua and twice as heavy, and two double beds.

I'm taking one bed. You two get the other.

* Raidou looks curiously at the air conditioners.

* Germany subtly rolls his eyes at Bel's comment and goes to investigate the bathroom.

* Belphegor heads over to the bed further away and jumps up on it obnoxiously. Springy.

* Raidou glances at the television, wondering idly how it works but otherwise not terribly interested in it.

This group apparently cleans up and gets an early bedtime. :|b

* Germany will be up at the asscrack of dawn because that is just how his internal alarm works.

* Raidou will probably do the same, although he probably won't get that much sleep.

Well, dawn is only a few hours away. You'd better get a start on it.

* Belphegor sits and folds his legs, lounging on -his- chosen bed. He'll take a shower when he gets up... which will be after sleeping in if he can get away with it, because he's a prince.

* Raidou looks at Germany. "Which side of the bed do you want?"

The side away from the air conditioning, unless you are particularly opposed to that.

* Raidou looks briefly puzzled. "The...?" Then he shakes his head. "If you want the side nearest the door, that's fine."

Either is fine, really.

The side nearest the door yes. Thank you.

* Raidou nods, glancing at the air conditioners again. "Are they supposed to be that loud?"

It's not abnormal, for older models. Newer ones tend to be quieter.

...Because the technology is better. I see.

* Germany nods. "That's correct. Also because they would have less problems. Loud noises are sometimes signs of malfunction."

I see. So it's possible that those are malfunctioning, as well.

* Raidou nods in the direction of the TV. "That's a television, right?

They're probably just poor quality.

* Belphegor glances toward Raidou at that. "... What time are you from, that you wouldn't know?"

Taisho - er, 1931.

* Belphegor laughs. "It figures."

Does it?

* Raidou looks at Germany again. "Is that an older model, as well?"

It does. At least you know enough to have recognized one.

The television wasn't available until the late thirties, so yes it would make sense. And judging by the size of the television, it's also quite old.

A few people in camp have mentioned them.

* Raidou looks at the television again, slightly more curious now. "How do they work?"

There's a knob or a power button.

Hmm.

Is there sound?

Sound, as well as visuals, yes.

Wouldn't that be inconvenient in a room such as this? If someone wants to watch the television, but others in the room do not, even if the volume is controllable it would probably still bother the ones who don't want to watch.

...On the other hand, the air conditioners are quite loud as well.

I doubt there's anything good on at this hour in the first place.

Would there actually be anything being broadcasted at this hour?

There's always something on, but whether it's of quality is debatable.

...All night?

Yes.

There have been enough programs filmed over the years that one can simply put in old movies or TV shows in slots where there is no new material to fill.

That makes sense.

* Raidou moves to investigate the television a bit more closely, inwardly chiding himself for keeping everyone awake but not quite able to suppress his curiosity over the thing.

* Belphegor flops back on his bed comfortably.

Are you turning it on or just examining it, Raidou?

(examining it for now, unless he hits something accidentally. Does it have dials or buttons?)

(Buttons)

(Are the buttons labeled or have the labels worn away?)

(Just by number. The power button label has worn away)

* Raidou frowns at the numbers, unsure what they mean. He runs his fingers over the buttons but doesn't press them - until his hand slips and he accidentally hits an unmarked button.

The TV makes a loud thrumming noise, static hissing as the screen comes to life. Loudly.

* Raidou jumps and immediately jabs the button again to turn the thing off.

--RDERS IN THE DUNDEE REGION THAT HAVE YET BEEN UNSOLV--

The TV turns off.

* Raidou glances at Belphegor and pushes the button again, because that sounded suspicious.

* Belphegor glances over at that. "You turned it off already?"

The TV flashes back to life. There is a news reporter standing in a hospital, talking to the camera. . After a moment, the sound cuts back in.

"--Calling it the second coming of Jack the Ripper."

* Belphegor watches curiously, before laughing. "Ushishishi~ where is this?" Not here, is it? Is there room for two "Rippers"?

It said the Dundee region, before I initially turned it off.

Is that local, though?

I don't know.

The news reporter continues, giving details of the string of suspicious deaths, before announcing that the local weather would be coming up next. It seems to be a local channel.

Hmm... most likely. Interesting.

* Belphegor has a hint of both interest and... /boredom/ in his tone.

* Raidou nods, though puzzling a bit over Belphegor's tone.

* Belphegor likes going out and killing serial killers, okay. This could be interesting.

The television is now talking about the weather. It seems like the next few days should be fairly nice.

(...Hooray?)

You decide to turn the television off for the night. Probably.

* Raidou does so.

* Belphegor yawns. Boring. "I wonder if that killer has anything to do with our host. What he's here to investigate, that is."

I'm wondering that, as well. I'm not sure I'd be surprised either way.

Well, we'll find out later. I'm going to sleep.

* Raidou nods and prepares for bed himself, making sure as always that his weapons and confinement tubes are within easy reach.

* Belphegor readies for bed. His box weapon and knives are easily within reach, like usual.

* Raidou settles down in bed, hoping the noise of the air conditioners won't keep him up for the rest of the night.

This is the most organized sleeping.

#room105

The room is clean, reasonably-sized, but not particularly fancy. It's clearly a kinda seedy hotel, but not of the cockroach variety. There's a bathroom just off the exit, some rumbly air conditioners in the windows, a television that looks older than Joshua and twice as heavy, and two double beds.

* Itachi heads straight for the bathroom to wash off the dust and blood he's covered in.

* Kaname stands against a wall near the windows.

What happened with Elli before we all arrived?

* CardboardCutoutOfKazuki is propped up against the wall.

* Kaname looks over at Joshua and Kazuki.

I thought I said not much had happened?

Why was Kazuki injured?

Someone's a little trigger happy. That's really all that happened.

Ah.

* Kaname seems to accept that.

* Itachi finishes showering and returns, free of dust and blood. \o/

* Kaname is silent.

There is a knock at the door.

Who is it?

The knocking pauses, then resumes, in a playful pattern.

. . .

...

* Joshua gets up to answer the door instead of being stoic.

"Knock knock," comes from the other side.

...Who's there.

"Luka." He sounds expectant, glancing past Joshua to look at Kaname.

Must we?

His face falls.

* Kaname goes :|. Life is hard.

He looks plaintively at Joshua instead.

You're here for a reason, aren't you?

Desperately he shifts his gaze to Itachi.

* Itachi raises an eyebrow.

He sighs. "That's no fun."

* Joshua considers for a moment, steps back, and closes the door on Luka's face.

...he knocks. Twice.

* Joshua locks it, too.

A black, shadowy hand morphs through the door and unlocks it.

* Kaname looking somewhat amused.

* Joshua steps away from the door. "Well, I'll leave it to you all! I should get clean." And ... goes to do that.

* Itachi opens the door again.

"Hi," Luka says.

Come in.

* Itachi steps back so Luka can come in.

Luka comes in and sits on Joshua and Kazuki's bed. "Am I intruding?"

* Kaname shakes his head. "How are you?"

"We're doing okayish," Luka says. "I wanted to catch up... ah, I swung by room 106 to see if they wanted to get together to talk too but when I listened they were very busy talking about air conditioners. So I thought we could just catch them up later."

* Joshua doesn't sing in the shower, for the record.

...Air conditioners.

"Air conditioners," Luka repeats, very seriously. "It's just me right now, by the way, Elli's sleeping."

Have a long night?

"She's really worn out," he says. "I'm worried about her."

* Itachi takes a seat on the other bed. "What happened?"

"She's been stressed," he says. "There's been a lot of murders and we're back here again."

It must bring back memories.

"It does," Luka agrees. "Elli's always trying her hardest, she doesn't relax well. Umm..."

What kind of murders?

"Extremely brutal," Luka says. "It's like the ones that were going on in California. We're sort of following them."

You said you last heard from Sera a few months ago... Is this why you've summoned us here?

Luka glances towards the bathroom curiously. "Can that hear us or will I have to catch him up after too?"

* Joshua cannot hear and takes stupidly long showers ... hope the hotel can handle that much hot water use.

* Itachi is glad he showered first.

We can wait.

"No, it's fine," Luka says. "He must just really need a shower. Anyway... yeah, Madison suggested it."

From the school...

How is he?

"That Madison," Luka agrees. "He and Sera were texting a little before. I guess he's okay?"

Hm. He's smart and perceptive. He believed we could help?

"I guess so? It sounds like ... mm, can you tell me about this Lucia and Sidney?"

Hm...

* Joshua in a most convenient manner, the shower turns off. ... But it'll still be a while.

Lucia has a lot of guilt over something. I assume it involves her brother, who lies in a coma.

"Brother?" Luka sounds interested.

An older one. However, his soul had... come loose, I suppose. He was haunting the Bellcourt estate, in a manner of speaking.

His name is David.

"Haunting? How?"

Clawing at the walls, for one, and trying to communicate.

He swings his feet thoughtfully. "So what happened exactly?"

(You can just say 'we summarize' if you want though or do it icly if you're only doing specific information XD)

(WE SUMMARIZE. Closets are spoken of.)

(David was a thing, there was blood and glowing marks and exposition to your flavor.)

"...ah," Luka says. "And so it comes back to the butler?"

Yes.

Anything to add, Joshua?

* Joshua comes out of the bathroom. "Oh, I see I'm back in time for talk of my favorite demon."

Nothing I can think of! Very good.

"He's your favourite?" Luka asks.

* Joshua looks very pretty and sparkly and like he somehow got his hair to have all that volume with no hair product. it's nice being god.

Not jealous, are you?

"I'm curious. Is he that good?"

* Kaname shrugs

He makes excellent tea.

Luka looks bemused.

He's that good.

So how does he figure into you summoning us here, Luka?

"He didn't, but it's a good missing link," Luka says. "Because Sera texted and said they were here. Just like they were in California when the killings were happening there."

...I see.

...Hmm.

What else did she say?

"Not very much," Luka says. "It was a really short text. From Robin's phone, she said, because Lucia had hers."

* Kaname considers that. "Anything on where they are?"

Hmm ... Would I be able to call them, or would that draw too much attention?

"It might draw attention," Luka says. "Because only a few people here would have her number. Right?"

May I have her number for texting then? Hopefully, she'll understand the vibrate function.

"Sure." He gets out a cellphone and reads out a number. "Maybe in the morning though? It's late and better to do it when she's awake to notice."

I'll be patient.

You could try calling the Bellcourt residence and seeing if they know where Lucia may be.

And where might I get that number?

Research.

Do you have a laptop?

* Joshua looks at Luka.

"No... just a phone. We could go to a library or look it up on the internet on the phone. Tristan probably has something..."

Text them tomorrow first... The rest can wait if it doesn't turn out.

And something tells me it won't be so easy to find Lucia.

* Kaname nods.

"Mmm... Thanks for talking with me," Luka says.

It's fine.

He rises, brushing imaginary dust off his legs. "I'll let you get some sleep. We probably have a lot to do soon."

Hm. All right.

Yes, I imagine so.

"Good night. Sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite."

Rest well...

He leaves.

(Unless you guys want to talk, end there for tonight?)

(sure o/)

(insert sleeping-with-who jokes here)

(sleeps with the vampire?)

(y)

(CardboardKazuki and Joshua can have their rad bromance)

(and we remain stoic)

(Joshua doesn't spoon Kazuki in his sleep. just fyi.)

* Kaname is a perfectly good bed partner

(his loss)

(It is also probably v. hard to spoon a cardboard cutout.)

(Awkward)

#wineanddine

Tristan ushers Rayfell inside one of the lower-floor rooms. "I don't have blackout curtains," he says apologetically, "But we can put one of the comforters up on the windows? In the meantime, why don't you have a bath? There's no windows in there."

That should do fine.

* Rayfell heads for the bathroom, discarding her shirt on the way in.

Tristan approves of this one! Amused, he heads into the main part of the room to try and rig something up.

After a few minutes, Tristan pokes his head into the bathroom, back in Cute Girl mode. "How is everything?"

* Rayfell in the bath, hair pulled into a bun. "Just fine, thank you. I wouldn't say no to some company in here, though...<3"

Tristan laughs, slipping out of her shirt. "And I never turn down a lady."

* Rayfell has totally left enough room in the tub for the water to rise up with a small girl in the tub without spilling over. :Db

Rayfell is so considerate! Tristan sinks into the water, cuddling up to Rayfell. <3

* Rayfell kyaaaaaaaaaa<3<3<3

"So, do you have any idea what's going on with this whole deal?" Tristan asks, making herself comfortable.

I haven't got a clue. All I've worked out is what you are.

"Well, that's one thing," Tristan grins.

* Rayfell idly plays with Tristan's hair. "Out of many."

"Hmmmm?" Tristan leans into that.

There seems to be quite a bit going on.

"I'm not really big into mysteries and all that, myself," Tristan says easily. "But I have a few favors owed here and there. Plus, I suppose I was in the area."

So what is it exactly we've all been brought here to do?

"You'd probably have to ask Luka and his host about that," Tristan says. "Something involving skeletons in the closet, and murders . . ." She nuzzles at Rayfell's neck.

That sounds like something that could wait until tomorrow...

"Should I call for room service for you?" Tristan asks.

* Rayfell laughs softly. "I'll be impressed if their room service menu provides the kind of meal I'm looking for."

Tristan grins. "It has to be delivered by somebody, doesn't it?"

It's easier if that somebody is willing.

"That's what I'm for," Tristan assures her, winking. "Everybody's always willing. Ah, you can bite me if you want, but I'm not sure how good I am on the stomach."

* Rayfell leans down to nuzzle the side of Tristan's neck. "You certainly look good enough to eat."

Tristan laughs, low, and tilts her head back. "Well, how can I argue with that?"

* Rayfell nips playfully, not hard enough to break the skin.

Tristan sighs, tilting her head back, and smiles.

* Rayfell presses a kiss to the spot she bit. "It really is a shame you're probably no good for me."

"A little indulgence wouldn't hurt, probably," Tristan decides.

Well, in that case...

* Rayfell darts her tongue out across Tristan's neck before sinking her teeth in.

The next part of this log is probably censored.
