Dec 26, 2021 15:34

I'm late with my seasonal greetings this year. But not too late i hope. Once again i want to thank all those who still take the time to comment on my posts, no matter how long i take to get here. You mean the world to me and always will. Thanks also to ladysnaps julchen11 lijahlover and janejanejanefor their Christmas cards. I find that i'm sending out less and less every year. Did you get my card or did the postal service eat it again this year?

I got your card today and thank you for it and the lovely things you said.

The card I sent you last year was returned to me marked "undeliverable." I resent it and the second time you got it. I'm very careful when addressing mail to you because your address is kind of complicated. I wonder if I'll get this year's card back, too.

Just curious about something. Did it cost you one pound seven pence for the stamp? I'm not sure I interpreted the amount correctly, but that's what it looked like to me. If that is correct...WOW! Postage in the UK is really expensive.

IT'S ARRIVED!! I love the way the card and the picture on the envelope match, and for your sweet greeting. Thank you so much. I'm SO pleased that it's reached me without you having to resend. How odd that it's delayed every time. I've checked the address and it's fine. The only thing i can think of is that your beautiful handwriting is too fancy for the average postal worker.. ;) Maybe print next time. I'm so glad that mine reached you too, and wasn't too late in the end.

Postage here is really high. No the cost wasn't £1.07, it was £1.79 which is worse. That's the reason i don't send even half as many cards as i used to.

Btw. I sent you an email a while ago now with a link to one of Adam's songs that you've always wanted to hear him sing live. Did you get it?

Yes, I guess I'd better resort of printing since reading my handwriting might be the problem.

I probably won't be able to send cards next year at all unless I send e-cards. The macular degeneration really makes seeing to write by hand very difficult. It's worse in my left eye, but if it starts to affect by right eye, too, I'll definitely be in trouble.

I still have your email with the link to Adam singing, but haven't listened to it yet. *hangs head in shame* I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Gosh, I can see why you've cut back on mailing cards. That's a lot for postage. It's the equivalent of $2.42. It actually costs only $1.80 for me to send a card to you.

I may be going down the e-card route too next time. It's surprising how it all adds up. Even local stamps aren't cheap, especially when you send out more than a dozen each time. The local scouts used to deliver local cards quite cheaply, which helped a lot, but they don't do it anymore. Fingers crossed your right eye stays clear for you.

I hope you get to watch the video. It's one of your favourites and a song you always wanted to hear him sing live. Let me know what you think when you get a chance to listen. xxx
