I was surfing and quite randomly followed a link to an illustrator called Dorothy Pulis Lathrop, and I fell in love. Her use of lines and stippling; the precision of work; the content predominantly animals and children against fantastical backdrops, are magical. She also draws water in an intriguing stark manner. OMIGOD, that's awesome and gorgeous! Someone on my flist is writing a Big Bang story with Rodney as a mermaid & John as an Ancient, asleep in one of the hibernation tubes in the submerged city, I wish you were one of her illustrators!

That is truly lovely! I wrote MermanJohn for McShepMatch last year (he assumed "Mer" must be one, too) and wish I had had such beautiful images to inspire me.

Thank you. Mer the mermaid seems to be instinctive. But I checked on wiki and apparently, it means Great Lord and had nothing to do with the sea. I will have to go and find your fic.
