I'll save you all the melancholy self-realizations.
Needless to say, we had family obligations yesterday. My uncle, who lives in Florida, was up to visit with one of my younger cousins, Suzie. We all met over at my aunt's house, with my father, cousins and uncle in attendance. It's odd seeing people after long stretches of time. We all remarked about how people look so old nowadays. My cousin, Avery, who I babysat for a few times when he was under 1 yr old, is now in high school and taller than I am. It just shows how fast time moves when you aren't paying attention to it.
It was nice to have certain family truths reaffirmed, but also sad to think about how little we all keep in touch. I wish it wasn't true, but we all seem to wrapped up in our own things.
Today was an outing to go to Target and the packey to get some essentials. Right now I'm watching the Euro finals between Germany and Spain. I'm also playing around with setting up a website for family to keep them abreast of what Alex and I are up to, in a weird way of keeping in touch.
It is getting closer and closer to us moving down towards Philly and I feel a strong urge for cleaning and consolidating our many possessions. I hate moving out of a place, but love the setting up the new place. It'll be nice to have some more room and a house to ourselves. I look forward to exploring a new neighborhood. I hope we get the house we are applying for. I really, really hope.
Back to more straightening and cleaning.
