So this update has been long in coming! We moved in the beginning of July and we're still not completely done! But I love our new house=0) A big thanks to my sweeties who wrote me letters of recommendation for the dumb loan app.
Here are not-so-good pics of Tara's silk dupioni & silk velvet pirate gown, and super cool pix of her in it! (What a hottie!) She also sent me pics of Karen in her last year's gown and wool cape, she looks gorgeous! I can't wait to see pix of her in her Mary Queen of Scots Gown! (I ran out of time to take pix before mailing, but I know she'll take great photos for me!)
And Karen's gown which I don't have photos of yet, made of black velvet and
silk brocade and based on this portrait of Mary Queen of Scots:
I'm working one adding sleeves to Megan's wedding gown. It was hard to
find the right fabric to match her gown was 100% silk, including the
lace! The little piece there is just some lace I had lying around we used
as a mockup. Pictures of the actual finished sleeves coming soon.
This is Tracy's corset gown, you can see her design sketch here too!
She's so talented! She's done some more for me, will be posted soon.
It's cotton velvet with embroidered dupioni, reversible to dupioni I embroidered
with a crest. Can't wait for piccies!
This is the first mockup for Laura's Edwardian corset. I spent the huge
bulk of time patterning it based on Waisted Efforts and period corset photos,
and also the measurements she wanted. The bubblegum pink satin coutil
corset is coming soon!
And m'lady Nathalie sent me these photos of her in her Scottish gown.
She was a dancer at Switzerland's annual Ren Fair and had a blast! To hear
her describe the dancing made *me* dizzy! Doesn't she look lovely?
I also got the silk
for Colleen's corset sea gown, and did the sea horse embroidery and
hand-stitched a Swarovoski crystal to the eye. I was very pleased with it,
and packaged up the swatch and printed out a label, and then realized I would
have wanted to show my hubby and kids (who like sea horses). After
mentioning it to hubby he reminded me I should have taken a picture. Darn
my ADD brain!
And our bunny family which has grown in leaps and bounds... Leo is now a hunk
of manly bunny, and is bonded to Sophie (whom my hubby calls
Abby...Abby-Normal). Sophie has a brain issue and has bad balance and can
run into walls, but is full of spunk. She's the alpha bun despite her
disability. We also now have Bella, one of 3 baby lionhead sisters we
fostered (she's on the R on the 1st pic). They do their best to help me
sew, like eat lacing ribbons, thread, fabric, etc.
