your transmission sounds like it might fall out of your car at any moment and the car is bucking like a cat on a leash when you try driving it, so you've pulled over at the side of the road. cars are whizzing by you with the occasional catcall, you can't leave yours where it is, you're nowhere close to public transit, and there's no way you're going to make it to work this morning, or maybe even today at all.
do you:
a) call AAA to tow you to that nice Midas where they swore your transmission would be hunky-dory for at least 50,000 more miles than what the odometer reads now?
b) call work to let them know how much fun you're having and that you wish you were there?
c) answer the fortuitous call FROM work that happens to be another manager asking an esoteric systems question that only you can resolve, and have them mark you as out for the day on the calendar?
d) post to LJ about it while sitting at the side of the road?
MY answer, of course, is
e) all of the above.
i'm so glad i have a book and my breakfast with me right about now. it miiiiight just be awhile.
