This weekend I learned about "deadheading" day lilies. Remember how I mentioned we have tons of them in the yard? Well I deadheaded both Saturday and Sunday, and both days yielded a full paper bag worth of dead flowers. I'm going to have to seriously look into a composter. Tom said, "Why not throw it on the heap in the back." I replied, "that's not a compost heap, that's a junk pile.

Which leads me to my next item. Tom was extremely ambitious, and cleared a grove of ancient yew bushes. With just a hack saw. The difference is extremely noticeable, as in we can get a breeze and sunlight there now. Granted, he's one hurting puppy today, but considering how much he cleared out, he's earned it. The Wood pile is about as long as our Escort and taller than Tom! (I'll post pictures later.) So if anyone needs any yew in the next few days, spin by and take it. I figure if we knew how to make long bows, we'd make a fortune.

Yesterday was our sixth anniversary. I couldn't ask for a more wonderful husband, friend and lover. He's silly and sexy and smart and funny and kind, and I fall in love with him every single day. I can't imagine my life without him in it, and I'm so very grateful. I only hope to make him as proud of me as I am of him.
