Goblins
Two things I learned about goblins today:
1) Goblins are hard-core basketball fans. Woe be to the referee that makes a bad call against their team or to the bar keep that won't sell to them because they don't have ID. They're prone to start riots at the home games at the drop of a hat. And they act like any other drunk patron on the T after a game, so the locals don't mind them as much.
2) Goblins speak in cuneiform. That's probably the most recent language of the humans they ever bothed to learn.
