Great show! Missed Etcy and Leccie tho. Cats makes me cry... so much emotion. Grizabella complex (really identify with her trying to dance, her exclusion from the tribe, being an outsider...) plus all the history with the show- it was the 1st musical I saw, 12 years ago, I've always loved it! I used to cry during Mr. Mistoffolees, because that meant it was nearly the end... now I cry during the Jellicle ball, remembering Sarah Jane Honeywell's Etcetera walkovers despite the pain she was in, she did it one last time, overlaid with the cheers and amazement at her acrobatics when she was well.

Chevaun Marsh as Grizabella- She was very good, great voice, but of course not unique as Chrissie Hammond (whole thing about being unique- no-one else is like that!)
Barry Haywood as Deut.
Matt Krzan was on as well- not sure as who.

Nic Greenshields as Munkustrap- what a Tabby! Very sweet, looked magnificent! He hasn't yet resolved the conflict of Munkus being both big, strong, protective, typically canine traits, with the arrogance and fluidity of the feline. Basically he came across as more of a dog character than cat, but a lot of Munkustraps do. Gorgeous voice, SO tall! very impressive. We liked... :)

Leyla Pelligrini as Demeter- having a paranoid cat at home, she got the character so well! Leyla's great- character, voice, dance. only problem was her gloves not quite matching her unitard.

Lovely characcterisation from Alonzo, puffing his chest out and preening as his name was mentioned in Naming of Cats!

Bill Bailey was a bad little kitten... Carbucketty was taller than him, which seemed odd, but then, Bill Bailey was shorter than most of the girls.

perfect characterisation from Mungojerrie and Rumpelteaser! really faultless, everything you could want from such a cheeky pair. Mungo's very Flat-top.

Sweet Breathy Jemima, lovely voice, but a bit unusual. She didn't push or strain for the notes at all. sweet character too.

Stuart Ramsay's Tugger is great fun! really amusing... funny when he kissed Misto, and Misto was spitting and wiping his mouth for the next 5 mins- totally disgusted!
Misto- Guy-Paul- not wanting to be too personal, but that man has quite a nose on him! If he'd altered the makeup, made the black tip larger, it'd help smooth his nose out in his face? But what a performer! Great, so quirky, full of character, always up to something in the background.

Costumes- mostly very nice costumes, pretty, rich coloured unitards. Mungo seemed to have no base colour, being entirely mottled yellow and orange with the black scribbles over. Jenny was very pink! the side seams of the unitards irritated me- mostly because I'm in the middle of making a Vicky costume without them. You don't need the side seams, it's quite easy to take in that fabric at the back seam instead. makes setting the sleeves a little trickier, but worth it! Some of the makeup was less effective than others- Skimble's made his eyes seem very small, Mungo's was very plain. Cass's was very complex! Jellylorum's makeup has never appealed to me, but this version was even wierder, her white muzzle started half-way across her cheekbones, and came down to slightly below her mouth. Made her face shape seem SO strange. It seemed to take the blocks of colour from london, without understanding why they were the way they were.

What else... wimbledon theatre has annoying seating, no central aisle so having to get up ALL the time to let people past. Very lively audience- why didn't Cats get audiences like that in london? It might not have closed!
