The theme of the Christmas Party is "A night at the Opera", and Katja suggested that a Valkyrie would be excellent. I'm taking the suggestion and running with it...
soooooo.... I need:
Winged helmet (w braids)
Large cloak (practical and decorative!)
Chainmail tunic?
Metal effect breastplate? Corset?
Belt affair, with fur or something hanging
Underskirt - maybe just calico?
Boots. with wings perhaps.
It's the bodice that's causing me trouble, I moulded breastplate would be awesome but possibly OTT and impractical. Some of the reference images I've dug up are pretty plain, I'd like a moderately low neckline as that makes the acres of chest less... acreage. I could do a chainmail-effect tunic with some degree of decoration - spirally boobs, some sort of armoured re-inforcement - plus a belt to break it up. It is a silly costume tho!
The main feature is the winged helmet - wings not horns, otherwise your stereotypical viking helmet. Shame I don't have one atm... easily remedied... not taking this too seriously...
Cloak, with mantle I think, and hood, if I have time... backup is the black hooded lining fabric one, but being december, I'd like something with some warmth to it! I'm sure I can find some fur to trim it with too. I'd like this to be nice, usable properly. Investment make.
Belt - silver lame, I think, plus a front panel of fake fur - match the cloak trim perhaps?
Underskirt - under tunic perhals, or just under belt. Whip up on a solid waistband from calico, will take me 20 mins tops.
Boots. hmm. now. Knock-off Uggs? Need to look either rustic, or armoured and absurd.
Then some jewellery - leather wrist cuffs? there's some excitingly cheap costume jewellery on Ebay, might buy and work into bodice decoration, kinda like with Kira only so different in style. Some shiny flashes of colour would be good.
ok, last problem... WHEN!?!?!?
