Couple of silly questions for you, since I just got the LotR Recording and can't stop listening to it: 1. when does it close? 2. what kind of seats would be the best ones to go for that aren't vastly and terrifyingly expensive?
Best seats are Thursday matinees, top seats £25, plus free pre-show talk and post-show Q&A with cast members! Otherwise they do day seats for £25... standbys for £25..... Top balcony has, unfortunately, a good chance of being closed so you'd get moved down. The show's not doing as much business as it deserves, so there's plenty of tickets available.
*ponders* I foresee a possible trip in June for a matinee ;) It's been ages since I've seen anything in London. Last thing was the3rd month of We Will Rock You, so it's been a while ;)
Wait... you've not seen AVENUE Q??? WICKED? Quite jealous of Elisabeth, but saw Romeo and Juliet in London... well, I'm sure Budapest won't be using the English lyrics! The worst show I've ever seen!
I'm looking forward to Oberhausen Vampires- I hope they do relax a bit, artistically! They don't need to be American micro-managers. Gareth Valentine, West End MD, recently ranted about how there's no artistic freedom in American produced shows.
I just got back from first day work experience at LOTR... *fangirl* Standing backstage while "Song of Hope", and "Wonder" are being performed... stealing a glimpse of the stage in motion... EEEEE!!!! Darning Orc gloves tho, is a NASTY job.
Ah, but Budapest apparently has one of the only decent productions of Romeo and Juliet, plus one of the best combined first and second ensembles I've ever seen (they go through up to 8 musicals a month :D) plus they have subtitles for foreign guests, which is useful, since Elisabeth hasn't yet been English :)
As for Avenue Q, I admit I'm curious on that one, but I can't stand Wicked. It takes everything I hate about American buddy girly films and takes a villain I find fantastic and ruins her. I like my villains bad, not redeemed, I'm afraid :) (although I do like the German Glinda and Elphaba. They have a fantastic chemistry, but then Lucy could have chemistry with a carboard cutout...)

Of course, LOTR will be going to Cologne next year, which is practically next door to Oberhausen...

So yep. Seen Vampires in three countries and in germany was my most disappointing one, although Jack made up for it somewhat :)
Got Romeo and Juliet and Elisabeth impending at the end of April, in Budapest though :D
