In yesterday's seminar, Caroline told us a foolproof method for keeping daily work journals, by answering these three questions.
What I planned to do:
What I did:
What happened next:
SO.
Today.
What I planned to do:
technique development. Test the length of the fibres of crepe wool to determine if they're suitable for making Electra wig.
Experiment with applique strips of supershiny white lycra onto electric blue and see if they look good, and if they affect the stretch.
Phone up about the Transcolor squares
What I did:
concluded that crepe wool is long enough for Cats, but not for Mohawks. Guess I'm looking for Yak or artificial then. Yak hair being very light, stands up on end well, artificial hair less obliging.
I have not electric blue lycra to experiment with... so Instead I used maroon and appliqued on black shiny lycra to test the technique, and used white onto blue lining fabric to test colour. Took me over 1/2 hour to do a patch about 6" by 10" - would be VERY slow over a full unitard. But I thinkI like the effect, aslong as it's concentrated. Also did look up PCB patterns for inspiration, after all Electra is a computer!
Tis now too late to make phonecall. bugger.
What happens next:
Will need to look up Yak hair, see if it's affordable. Experiment with artificial hair for mohawk.
Seeing Caroline tomorrow, hopefully will have time to discuss unitard options with her.
MUST phone up and find out about cost of Trancolor beforehand, so can discuss with the facts!
Well, that looks useful... tomorrow's "to do" list generated....
