[my] colour

At home I sit on the floor amidst the toys of my siblings listening to their sounds throughout the house and enjoying my music. Where will I be in two weeks time? Afrique. Wow. When I registered on the AIESEC system for internship I listed "no interest" for Africa. And now I will be there in less than a week… for two months. Holy…

Despite my apparent lack of French, I am looking forward to trip, if not only because it well get me to Paris to see Elsa and ultimately to New York to be with Alexander. But what of these glorious details? I'm going to Africa[!]. I don't even know how to be "black" in America. [Most of the time] I don't even like America! How the hell am I supposed to be "Afro-American" in Africa? I suppose I shall soon learn. And that's good. I hope it'll help me to be comfortable with myself at home. I know people are judgmental, but it's weird because these mysterious people I worry the most about I don't think I've yet met, or they have not made their opinions known to me… since high school anyway. Why do I care? And how much do I actually care?

I know the answer to the second question. A lot, apparently.
And why? Well, that's a whole damn novel.

Bienvenidos a la locura.
