It's Pride Week here in the city, which is basically a week long celebration for all gays / lesbians / bisexuals / transvestites everywhere. They ended today with a march/parade starting from 5th Avenue and 52nd Street to Christopher and Greenwich Streets. My suitemate was correct in saying that it was just like the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade... times 1000! There were a lot of floats by sponsors such as L'oreal, Starbucks, and Delta Airlines. Funky outfits were everywhere, and giveaways included necklaces and minty condoms. Many organizations marched, from PFLAG to churches! It was quite the experience, and I'm glad Steve and I went.
