AX Report, 2006

Jul 06, 2006 07:42

Before I knew it AX was around the corner, and until then I'd been sort of saying 'maybe' to it. But when I got that new job all of a sudden and I knew I'd get the four day weekend (Monday being an optional holiday), I decided I'd take off to Anaheim, CA with Josh on Friday night and stay until Tuesday.

Tiffany took the car down with us and it was nice getting to hear her voice as she practiced for AX Idol in the car. She sang Hikari from Hikaru Utada, (the english version) From KH2. I love that song!

The drive down was fine until we reached LA, where we ran into gridlock at 2:30 AM!!! UGH only in LA! We ended up not getting into the hotel until 4 AM. -_- so far off to a good and predictable start, sleep deprivation!

I didn't really expect to be doing any con related stuff while there. I only wore one costume on Sunday morning, Aeris from KH1 for my friend who brought his Sephiroth costume. It was his first time cosplaying so he was nervous and I told him I'd be his Aeris to stab, of course he ended up really enjoying himself. I did a lot of walking around, I had a ton of friends who came down for the weekend to hang out and I ran into a lot of friends that I hadn't seen since the last AX convention I went too (two years ago I think).

I was so happy to see all of you! I saw Henry, Justin, Candice, John, Wayne, Dean, Angela, Kimi, Gary, Rey-Rey, and so many more people but I am running out of time because I need to go to work soon.

Even if it was only for a brief moment, it was wonderful to catch up, get recent contact info, etc... I hope you all had a great time at the convention!

Sunday night was party night for me. I partied in a manner I'm not used too actually. In the past I've always known exactly what it is that I'm drinking. But this time that wasn't the case. I pretty much just took whatever anyone handed to me and I got completely anihilated... I didn't even know what was in the red plastic cup half the time, and I don't think I'd ever been so sick the day afterward in my life. My monday was mostly comprised of trying to eat, throwing it up, and lying in bed in a partially vegitative state trying NOT to throw up. By around 3 PM I was finally able to put some Udon Soup Broth into my stomache, and I felt better after that. But I didn't leave the hotel room that day. I tried to go out in the morning and ended up being sick at breakfast... >< Extreemely embarassing... I've NEVER done something like that before.

So let this be a lesson learned... ASK what the hell it is you've been given in the red plastic cup... and DON'T drink Smirnoff Ice and straight Jack Daniels at the same time ... it's evil... EVIL!
