Hey all.

Got back safely (as many already know) from Winnsboro. The trip went well overall... I just wish it had been for better circumstances. Ron's grandma is not well. She managed to come out in a wheelchair for Thanksgiving and eat a few spoonfulls of everything, but ultimately she remained in her bed. The atmosphere was sad and there was nothing anyone could do. I've never been around anyone dying before and it hit me a lot harder than I thought it would. I feel bad for not going into the room to see her more often, but when I went inside I instantly teared up. She wasn't coherant a lot of the time and we're not sure she knew who she was talking to or what she was talking about. She did recognize Ron, though, when we were saying our goodbyes. She squeezed his hand and told him to drive safe and "be good". Oh god, that hit me really hard. Ron just heard today that they were upping the dosage of morphine (of which she is allergic) to his grandma and that she probably had less than 48 hours now. ;_; Poor Ron. He's been feeling bad physically the last few days and now he's got this emotionally. His sad/blah days are rare, but god they kill me when he does get them. I just wish there was something I or anyone could do.

Um. Given the situation, it was really nice to go see his grandparents and aunts and cousins. I'd met Diane at the wedding but it was nice to get to know her a little better. I learned a lot more about Jim, too. There was also Verlin and his dad and grandpa down there. We had good food the entire time there. I hadn't thought we'd be having a Thanksgiving feast, but we did. Turkey, Ham, stuffing, squash casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, pudding and coconut cakes, pecan/pumpkin pies... it was fabulous. Every morning I had a big unhealthy breakfast of ham/bacon/somefattymeat and biscuits. I also got to discover the wonderful little pizza place down there called Johnny's. While everyone pigged out on their famous "Sweep the Kitchen" (of which that just says "ew" to me), I enjoyed my plain pepperoni pizza immensely. :) I seriously need a diet after last week. ...and this week.

Winnsboro is pretty boring. Ron, Jim and I all jumped at the chance to go to Walmart whenever anything was needed. We drove forty minutes away to Monroe to go to the mall and see a movie/walk around. Yay Enchanted! It was horribly cheesy and cute. I liked it, but couldn't fully enjoy it because I kept thinking in my head how much Ron must be hating it. He says he didn't though, so that's good. Also, got some maternity jeans that were much needed. I am teh comfy now.

Wednesday night, Ron and I went out to go car browsing again and ended up purchasing. I am now the proud owner of a 2007 Subaru Forrester. It's perdy and new and will hold many presents from NM we hope. Plus it's rated highest safety/performance. I will miss Jerome, but yay new car. It had about 400 miles on it when purchased.

Christmas shopping is almost done. I have a few friends and mostly Ron's family left to buy for. We have a ghetto xmas tree up, as you can see,
up with all the presents (so far) under it.

For the first time so far, I FELT pregnant yesterday. My stomach is getting bigger at an alarming rate. I want to say that it's food-baby and gas-baby and ...poobaby, but it's hard to tell. It's cool that I can see my belly move when the baby moves now.

Um. I think that's really all there is to update. Love to all.
