So last week bright and early Ron and I woke up at 2am to head over to his mom's house by 3am so she could drive us to the airport. We had an okay flight and slept pretty good on the way to Denver and then Seattle. Got our rental car without any problems and drove the beautiful Puget Sound area over to Silverdale/Poulsbo for my sister's wedding.
Unfortunately the hotel the rest of our family was in was nearly booked and it was either pay $180 for the ONE room they did have (smoking, yuck) or bunk with my family. Since the family wasn't arriving until hours later and Ron and I were sleep deprived, we found a hotel nearby and still forked out 100 bucks for a room to nap and stay the night. Oh, but before that we found the BEST BLACKBERRIES EVER growing by the side of the road near a gas station of all places. We were so tempted to go buy a bucket and pick them all, but decided a nap was better. ~__~
Later that night we met up with Jenn and her family for the dinner rehearsal at Azteca's. I was miserable uncomfortable due to bloatedness (before the Mexican food arrived, no less) and other pregnancy related uncomforts but really enjoyed seeing everyone and meeting new people for the first time. Jennifer had bought me and her maid of honor a BEAUTIFUL bracelet to match the dress (and match the beautiful Kay earrings Ron had just bought me for a surprise).
Next day Ron and I wake up early to have breakfast with the uncle, cousins and grandparents before setting off to the chilly Kitsap State Park where the wedding was to be. Brrr. Having been used to 106 degree weather in Clarksville the last month, going into the 50's was hard. Especially in a short dress and heels and wet hair. But it was worth it.
Jennifer had said she was the "least picky bride ever" but like ALL brides, had her moments of bridezillaness at the beginning. Pictures were lovely. A bee went into her veil at one point. I hope they got a picture of the flailing. :)
It was so cute during the ceremony. I watched as Jennifer faced the preacher STONE-FACED, completely unmoving, while her groom kept looking over at her with nothing but pure love and adoration during the process. He is so sweet. I think we awwed a lot when he cried during their first dance. ;____; What a great couple! The dancing was great, the scenery was great and the people were great. Aside from being chilly, it was an AMAZING day.
I absolutely love Jennifer's grandmother, mother, and maid of honor. ^__^ I had so much fun in the dressing room with them all.
There was an awkward moment after the tossing of the garter/bouquets (which took three times for anyone to even TRY to catch them) when the DJ made the 'winners' play Reverse Garter. Elise (my cousin) was to sit on a chair and Josh (my half-brother) was to be blindfolded, spun around, and then have to try and put it up her leg. The higher on the leg, the more years of happy marriage for the bride and groom. We were all grossed out because they were related! BUT, as it turns out, while Josh was being spun and blinded, they switched Elise out with Josh's stepdad and he had to yank the garter onto a man's hairy leg instead for laughs. ^_^ still awkward for Josh but fun for us.
Some people drank a little too much, perhaps, but with reason. And not to embarass anyone, but back at the hotel when a certain person fell over onto their head (and a baby- who was unharmed) was one of the highlights of the day. I hope he/she isn't embarassed or upset about me mentioning it, but seriously, it made everyone laugh and smile so much. ^___^
The next day was the free day and Ron and I were going to go to Skippers since I used to work there and was craving fish and tarter sauce. Unfortunately after a long-winded process of trying to find a different Skippers in Tacoma (unsuccessfully) we settled on Subway and I never fulfilled my craving. But A+ to the family for trying anyway! Aside from the headache I had, it was completely worth it because we got to take Elise to UPS (University of Puget Sound) where she's been interested in going to college. *___* HOLY COW that place is GORGEOUS. If I was to go back to college I would want it to be at some place so beautiful and picturesque. I wish I'd gotten pictures of it.
Anyway, after the family and I parted ways, Ron and I got to head up to Seattle to hang out with my wonderful friend Kim. :D :D :D I hadn't gotten to see her at Ron and My...I...mine and Ron's my own wedding this last March due to her moving over there and starting the Art Institute, so it was excellent seeing her after these last couple of years. We got to see her cute apartment! And she took us down to Pike Street Market which is freaking awesome. *___* My legs still hurt from the walk back up, though. ;) We went to the Space Needle but didn't go up. Who wants to pay 16 dollars for an elevator ride? But it was still magnificent and it was a nice walk. We got souveniers, Thai food, and started a movie before Ron and I had to head back to the airport. :( I had such a good time with Kim. I think she's one of those friends where you could lose touch for 20 years and see eachother again and have a connection as strong as if it'd only been days without seeing one another. ^___^
So yeah, Ron and I had a 12:55am flight to Atlanta and then were to arrive back Sunday at 9:30am in Nashville. OY. We didn't sleep well this time and Ron was sick as a dog. We thought it was food poisoning at first from the Thai. I babied him and tried play mother. He's always taking care of me, so it was nice (even though he was sick) to try and care for him.
Unfortunately it wasn't food poisoning because I woke up Monday for work feeling faint and ready to vomit. All day was hell but I only took an extra hour during lunch to rest, even though I can't afford the PTO. x_x I went to the doctor and found out in addition to a virus (which they couldn't treat because of my pregnancy), I also had a UTI. Greeaaat. But at least I got anti-biotics for that and woke up the next day feeling 95% better. I still have felt dizzy and weak and I can't eat a whole lot, but yeah, MUCH better. :D
Um... what else? Oh yeah, yesterday I was pulled over by a cop. o.o I haven't been pulled over (as the driver) in AGES. Apparently I didn't do a complete enough stop FOUR BLOCKS FROM MY HOME. He didn't give me a ticket thankfully, but instead gave me a lecture that made me feel like I was back in grade school.
So I think that's it. o.o I may have more to update but Ron just got back. Re-Re. He thought he left his work keys at work, so drove all the way back there to find them only to find them in his CAR. LIKE I TOLD HIM TO CHECK BEFORE HE LEFT. -_-; oy.
my back is killing me. right in the center mid-top near my spine. I never hurt there. OW. I've popped it all day trying to help it but no. ow. ow.
