Plus ca change in another way, alas
Unfortunately I still have not managed to secure a new job, although I remain perpetually hopeful like a Dickens chara (between bouts of utter despair), and I had not wanted to do this again, from equal parts pride, and the knowledge of how bad the economic situation is everywhere and how much direr the straits of many are than mine. But the end of the month cometh apace and I am several hundred bucks short of the rent and utils (both of which have been raised, natch) and editrx has pressed me to post the Paypal button again. (Threats of catnapping may have been involved.)
As ever, extreme gratitude if you can, and nothing of reproach if you cannot - "If you haven't got a ha'penny" &c.
Also, I may be looking for betas for an original fic in a little while: it will be long, over 300 pages if it comes out the way it is supposed to, so think about it before any time commitments; it will be at least a couple of weeks before I would be needing volunteers, however.
