Speaking of exorbitant incompetence...

You may have already seen this on Daily Kos, but the people who put together the Republican National Convention screwed up bigtime - twice.

The first time was in using an obscure backdrop pic that only a handful of Americans would have recognized, which after some research by baffled viewers, turns out to have been a middle school in Southern California - which happens to be named for Walter Reed, better known as the namesake of the famous East Coast military hospital. People have justifiably wondered why the McCain team with its "hundred years" war talk would think that was a good idea (especially when it resulted in a redo of the "green screen" visual fiasco) but no matter why they thought that it would be suitably evocative and inspirational to their base when the GOP administration wants to pretend that war is a video game, the fact that they couldn't even do the minimal research needed to get the right backdrop has to sting.

The second time was in using an inappropriate song, without permission, as Sarah Palin's theme music. Neither of those problems is the first time this has happened, either. Not even for the McCain campaign. Entitlement much? "We're just going to take your cool stuff and use it without asking!"

For the party of Law And Order, they don't seem to know much about either.

stupidity, republicans, research, politics, media
