Anatomy of a Concern Troll
I just got this email from "DS" which is a hilarious example of Concern Trolling misfiring so here it is for the Troll Cave:
It's sort of sad, that you spend all that time, and waste so many words, desperately attempting to sound insightful whilst you insult someone...
And you manage to be completely incorrect. Throwing buckets of assumptions in someone's direction won't make any of them fit, I'm sorry to say.
All your little theories and ideas and stereotypes...all wrong. It just shows you managed to see everything that was written, and pay attention to none of it. Instead, only seeing what you wanted to see, or pretend to see.
Sad, really.
What's the point of sending me this? I have no idea which of the many things I might have said over the past years has gotten under this person's skin. Am I seriously supposed to be hurt, or made uncertain of myself, by a complete stranger who can't provide any evidence for his/her assertions, and moreover can't even provide any context for them?
--I say "his/her" giving the benefit of the doubt, since I go after so many different things in so many different places, but while I suppose it could be poster FemiNazi at dKos coming back at me belatedly when I didn't respond to her responses on a recent thread there about the AP and the SCLM, my suspicion - partly because of the superior literacy level displayed (which admittedly isn't saying much) - is that it's Mr. Banninated from this thread at the Hathor Legacy, proving right everything I've ever said about Privilegeboys in a single demonstration.
So, since I try to be democratic about this, I'm putting this to a pre-emptive vote: check out Black Thirteen's comments and let me know if I should let him post if he comes over here to try to convince us of The Error Of Our Ways, if you all want to be able to kick him around for a bit, or if you all think he's just too tiresome.
ETA: oh, he thinks he's being really clever - all I saw was the "DS" the way I've got the email headers set up, and I couldn't think of any posters I know anywhere with those initials, but he replies to my "Who the devil are you and why should I care if I've offended you?" with this:
Learn a little German. Schwarz = Black, Dreizehn = Thirteen.
My point is, and continues to be, you spend all that time typing up a post, acting as though you actually know what you're talking about, and you failed miserably, at even being marginally correct in your thoughts.
Let's see if he's brave enough to even try to tangle with the inmates of this asylum...
One more ETA: Since he had the order of the words arranged wrongly, no wonder I didn't connect "DS" with "Black Thirteen." It's been over 15 years since I last took a German class, but I thought I remembered that they didn't reverse like in French, not even when a number is being used as a noun instead of an adjective. And lo! fandom comes to the rescue...
