"Broken Wings," take 2

Okay, this is definitely Evil of me. I mean, the intention is Good, but I'm enjoying this far too much--

This redraw of Uncanny X-Men #491 is using the new, redesigned Robin costume of my own devising:

In homage to the original character concept, it retains the traditional colors and many of the design elements, but updated for a sleeker, sexier - and, dare I say, more practical - 21st century look. The protective gauntlets and dashing cape remain, but gone are the goofy ankle shoes and the chilly-looking bare legs: the new Robin uniform sports sturdy thigh-high boots for maximum knee protection while scrambling over those Gotham rooftops or tumbling over asphault! A jaunty thigh utility belt for gadgets adds a whimsical touch, while the old bulky shorts and double-layered top, cumbersome and conducive to overheating in action, are replaced by a a streamlined high-cut bottom and wide belt for midriff protection, which expands the front lacing to back and sides, allowing for maximum flex in those gymnastic flips and rolls. In a further nod to tradition, the lines of the sleeves and vest have been echoed with stylish arm and shoulder bands, a bright reminder of Grayson's circus heritage which serve to show off his biceps and chiseled shoulders. Holy Beefcake, Batman! Our Boy Wonder's all grown up now! (Don't worry, he might be down and out at the moment, but Robin will surely be back up on his feet and swinging soon--)

(--I'd blame it on voxwoman, only I was already thinking how to do it before her comment.)
