Even though it's inconvenient for me personally today, I'm glad it's pouring again - the drought has been so bad this past month-plus that I can see stones in the river that I've never seen before, and I think there are parts where I (and I am short, remember) could actually walk across the river, from sandbar to rock to island to rock to sandbar to bank, and all the lawns and fields that don't have sprinkler systems and the trees are brown as if this were Texas, with record heat for September to match. I don't know how much of a difference it will make to the water table, but it will help some at least. For now.
