Oh dear - Bourne Trilogy as Western Wuxia

I always thought of Ludlum as a rather flat (and sadly non-reality-based when it comes to dumb things like describing London and Paris so's the reader can tell just from the prose which city you're in, or the difference between Greek Orthodox and Hong Kong Action Movie monks) writer of contemporary Gary-Stu stories.

But apparently there's more to his most famous work than that...
