Through a glass, darkly

-in this case, the glass of a camera lens-

Firstly I want to say "thank you" for all the moral support and otherwise; being part of the wider world via the internet is what keeps me going these many years now (zounds, was it really back in aught-ninety-seven that I discovered Usenet, and was able to use polysyllabic words in conversation for the first time without being made to feel a freak (for that, at least--!) and the very real communities of the intersecting Venn blogospheres, transcending accidents of geography, and I do try to give back to y'all, even when the burden of guilt for being so incapable and behind on everything makes it even harder to do anything. Here are some photos which I have taken this summer that might be enjoyable, some more mundanely than others, but all of them from that rather-skewed angle of my seeing which you guys appreciate -- I don't pretend that they're great art or great photography, but I think they're kinda neat, at least:

Pegasus Weathervane

Harmonious graffiti by the Piscataquog River

Rather more ambitious graffiti in Boston, on the art school boiler room door

Baby ladybugs on some kind of shrubbery

Distant Mill across the Merrimack river

Forget-me-nots at the foot of Weston Tower

University lamps and locust tree at twilight

Except as noted, these were all taken in Manchester, NH, with my battered but still going Canon PowerShot A400, the gift of loyal readers two years ago. Cropped/rotated/resized in Photoshop, some levels adjustment on the Pegasus house, but otherwise as-was. If anyone would like higher-resolution versions, let me know and I'll put them on my website for download.
