Note:
Ashael is an OC.
The phrase, as she heard it, was the first taste was the sweetest. Or something along those lines. With the alterations and changes ongoing in Heaven, Ashael wasn’t used to everything being unknown and out of sorts. Not like they had been in the beginning anyways.
But look at her now.
Now she was at Sam Winchester’s side, assisting him on hunts for the creatures that were escaped from the woodworks and cracks of Hell. A year had passed since he had been pulled out of Hell himself, finally coming to terms with Dean living his normal life, yet still having Ashael poke her head into the neighborhood to see if he’s alright on rare instances.
He never did touch the demon blood, as they thought he may. Once she saw him go for it around the third month, but something in his eyes… There was something she saw in that split second that he almost licked the blood from his fingers. It was fear, disappointment, remembrance, and a thousand other emotions that practically started radiating off him.
Castiel’s still around too. He monitors things from Heaven, along with giving them information on certain monster locations.
There’s always something though, she learned from traveling with a hunter. There’s always something to hunt, always something to be doing; more so than when she was serving in Heaven.
Leaning her head slightly against the window of Sam’s car, the black Dodge Charger she knew he choose to buy because of its resemblance to Dean’s Impala. Her thoughts were on the past and the future all at once, wondering what was to come next for them, eyes blinking at the passing scenery of open green fields of Wyoming.
“You okay Ash?”
She sat up straight again, turning to look at Sam with a small smile. “I’m fine.”
“Good, because we’re almost there.” He smiled back for a moment before turning his attention back to the road.
Ashael did the same, watching straight ahead as she silently thanked both Castiel and her Father for the gift of freedom they gave them all.
