So it seems I have a cold at the moment. Boo. Like many colds I've had before, it starts out feeling like bad allergies and then the symptoms become more cold-like and then I realize it's a cold. Annoying. It's not particularly bad, just feeling really tired and having nasal issues (SNOT PARTY!). I've been sleeping a lot the past few days and I think it's getting better.
Funny, because I still did two improv shows the past two days and they went well. The cold didn't effect my energy onstage. The body seems capable of separating itself from illness symptoms in order to perform.
The past few weeks have been going well overall. Lots of really fun shows and some holiday parties and gatherings. And then the actual holidays, with time spent with the Beeler family and then the Janiks. Both family gatherings featured BBQ and catching up. My grandma actually came to visit this year, so that was nice. I've been estranged from my CA family for awhile.
I felt really good about all the gifts I bought this year and was excited to give them out. I received a lot of nice and useful gifts this year myself. A bunch of gift cards to places I frequent, for one, some money (car fund!), an heirloom crystal necklace that was once my great-grandmother's, a comprehensive cookbook, some perfume, an electric toothbrush, and any day now I should be getting a call that my prescription Ray Ban sunglasses are ready to pick up.
The Christmas holidays quickly spin into the New Year holidays, and so that's what I'm in-between now. A sort of limbo of getting some work done but not quite back into the swing of things yet. On Thursday we have our 6th annual Same Year's Eve, a crazy community-wide improv show and free party afterward. I'll be making part of the dance mix for the after party.
And then there's New Year's Eve, of course. And, like the past...4 years? I'll be performing in our special New Years shows at the Hideout at 8 and 10:30pm, then I'll try and catch up and party with friends who will probably already be way drunker than me.
I guess I haven't been posting much because life's been busy. Things are going well, though, and I have some more 2010 retrospectives to post. (later)
