As a journalist I have a certain attitude to 'anonymous' statements... sure if you want your identity protected because you fear for reprisals if you need to uncover something, but unless I know who you are then your information is not valid.
Anonymous statements protect people and lets them say anything if the publisher is not responsible.
To this end I am livid over certain LJ sites that allow anonymous comment about people. These comments are not in any public interest. They are not so-called secrets they are, pure and simple, bitching. Protected behind anonymity bitching.
So you have a chip in your shoulder? So you want to take a cheap shot at someone, present it as a secret and hey, it's ok.
Well it's not.
badfalcon and charlies_dragon were on the receiving end of my absolutely apoplectic rage this morning when I read such a secret. I'm glad to say they understand where I'm coming from.
I can only say to the people who post so-called secrets that we do not think you are big or clever. We are not sitting at home with our computers saying 'right on' - we pity you that you have to be so nasty and not have the balls to stand over your opinions.
I'm not going to slag off any particular comms, so if this makes no sense to you then that's a good thing, but don't ask me what this is about. I'm not advertising such trash.
