Last month was very complicated:
-huge presentation on Suicide. Got an A.
-three paged-reaction paper to 200 pages book. Had to read it in a week and still carry out my music major schedule *gags*
-Music Theory test ...passed?
-Christian Thought test. studied for only one hour total...not smart ...BIG ass test. 20% of grade... AND...by the grace of God... 83%!
Big One:
-Halloween. (and just so you know...the campus was dead on Mischief night. People were involved at their churches to keep kids from getting involved by having alternative fun available)
Earlier on that day, I was scanning people's id cards at the lunch room door (We work at the caf) and I was so bored...my face had that glazed-over look. So when this one guy comes up in a big ape costume...I jumped. Hahaha. Everyone in line got a good laugh, me included. My friend, Robert dressed up as Batman (Batman's his nickname. He's a little guy and I guaruntee that he got that costume out of the kids section of party city. It was cute though heh.) Some of the girls on my floor had gone trick-or-treating and everything.
I'm still sorta miffed that my school says they don't celebrate it when the week before Halloween, they had this "Under the Harvest Moon" costum party with bobbing for apples, candy corn, etc. If the Assemblies of God doctrine suggests no Halloween parties and the school makes it a rule, don't try compromising with stuff like harvest parties...it's stupid...and it's so freaking hipocritical to have people dressed up. Either call it a Halloween party or just don't have it. I'm so tired of the AG, and this college's rules are beginning to piss me off. That's why I am not following a doctrine because it makes crap so religious. I have a relationship with God, not a religion. It's called a Christian relationship in my book.
Anyway...Emanuel and I had work that night so we crashed the party late and missed out on the carmel apples (of which a friend had explained sucked anyway due to the way the carmel was so thick that it'd break a tooth trying to eat the friggin thing). But we took some of the snacks, glanced around at everyone, and left. It was so funny...
If anyone is wondering why the AG frown on Halloween, it's not what it is now that bothers Christians. It's what it represents spiritually for pagans. And it's a scruple that we should be able to decide to do or not to do individually...but the school takes it to another level and says not to. I think it's sort of sickening that they don't trust us to make our own decisions.
:end rant:

So...now it's November third, and I am going in a few short hours to an opera that my voice teacher is in. The opera is in Deleware, an hour's drive from the college. My boyfriend agreed to be my date. He's sorta grumpy because he's never been to one and doesn't know if he'll like it. He'll get over himself and end up enjoying it :) :P
We both like classical music. Subtitles will be used since it's in Italian.
And that's my life in a nut shell right now.
Coming home for the 21st of this month. Going back to college on the 25th. Enjoy me if you can :)
Later xo Maria
