Just put in a full day at the ol' civil courthouse. The case where the guy who was suing me over a June 2003 car wreck finally came to trial. *sigh* Basically, after hours and hours of mind-numbing boredom in which I had about a 3-minute role, I "won" my case. Meaning, they only awarded the plaintiff a mere $762 (to reimburse a medical bill he had paid) rather than the $23,000+ he was asking for. Actually, this shows what greed will get you--even right up until this morning, GEICO was willing to settle with this guy for $10,000. He thought he could get more and instead walked away with nothing.
House news: The sellers accepted our offer, so now we're into the lengthy process of gathering all the documents and making all the phone calls necessary to get to closing. Step 1, home inspection tomorrow morning. Wish us luck.
