I finally achieved Big Bustle Hair!

The Mass Costumers attended an Autumn Harvest Victorian Ball last weekend and we had a lot of fun!

I made an evening bodice to go with my seaside bustle dress, and my friend (who I've convinced to join our group *evil laugh*) borrowed the dress I made for the Returning Hero's Ball earlier this year.  I have to say I think it fits her better than it does me, though she had to whip stitch the bodice to the skirt as I am extremely short waisted and there was a good inch of corset showing! :)

Anyway, it was a fun night of feeling like a pretty pretty princess!  And my hair turned out fabulously if I do say so myself! ;)  This is what I'd been wanting to do with this dress originally but just never had time.  And it actually didn't take me all that long.  My bustle era hair class at CoCo was really helpful and I used a few of their tricks.  I crimped the front of it with my three barrel curling iron and then created the ringlets in the back with my flat iron actually.  I've found they hold their shape longer than regular hot rollers or curling irons.  Add my hairpiece and a fabulous feather headband and voila!  Big Bustle Hair!

More photos can be seen here at my mobile me gallery for the event!

I am also going to try to play catch up with things I've been up to.  I'm on vacation this week, so perhaps I'll find the time! :)
