I'm not dead yet! This is my yearly post. ;) It's strange, I haven't really joined any new fandom since SGA.
Anyway, here are some singers to try. The theme for this selection is European Musical Theatre, so Thomas Borchert, Pia Douwes, Uwe Kroger, Caroline Vasicek, Maike Boerdam, Serkan Kaya and Máté Kamarás. Maybe I should learn German and join the Elisabeth fandom?
Thomas Borchert, who is probabley now my favourite male singer.
He, Pia Douwes and Uwe Kroger are sort of the leading trio of European musical theatre. He's played The Phantom, Jekyll/Hyde, Count Von Krolock, Dracula and Death. Had I known he'd was performing in London a couple of years ago I would have booked tickets!

Pia Douwes.
She sings, she dances, she speaks at least three languauges like a native speaker! She's an all rounder having been in Les Mis, Chicago, Elisabeth, 3 Musketeers, Cabaret, and a million more. This is one of my favourite songs and she si just perfect at it.

Anne Goerner.
Not as well known as the others but she's such a good Christine Daae I had to include her. (And yes, the image quality isn't great. Sorry)

Uwe Kroger (vs Thomas Borchert).
I wasn't really a fan until I saw the video of Dracula, I thought he was another annoying, cheesy, John Barrowman type. What I didn't realise is he's a fantastic actor, I completely believed in his Van Helsing (and then his Death and then Joe Gillis)
Zu Ende ("It's over" or "To the death") Dracula

Caroline Vasicek.
More Dracula, more fantastic acting. She's sadly under-represented on Youtube but has been in Beauty and Beast, Les Mis and Mozart.

Serkan Kaya and Máté Kamarás.
Magnetic! And probabley even more fantastic live. Serkan has played such a wide variety of roles (Sir Galahad, Spamalot. Anatoly, Chess. Judas, JCSS) and deserves to join the top three as a leading light. Mate is absolutely fearless. His Death is definately worth watching even if he's not your favourite in the role.
Elisabeth Prolog. Although I recommend watching the whole show!

Maike Boerdam.
The woman who took over the biggest role in musicals from the mighty Pia Douwes, and is pretty good at it! She is adorable in this clip.

Enjoy and maybe I'll see you next year for the UK/US post. ;)
