I would also encourage you to see this story for what it is. I have been in the position of backing a character that the majority of fandom is currently against and being in that position makes one sensitive to anything written about the character. At no point in the story did I address Sam's motives in leaving for Stanford when he was younger, in fact I think it the right decision for him. Just because I favor Dean does not mean that I have lost my perspective for other characters. Nor did I ever imply or state that Sam "coos over his powers like they think they make him better than Dean . . ." Quite the opposite, I agree with your opinion that Sam's powers make him hate himself. Furthermore, in this piece of fanfiction I chose to depict Sam as being very protective of Dean and being scared for Dean because his new position as "God's chosen" puts him in the spot light -- a spot light that Sam himself has been in as the "Devil's chosen," with negative consequences. I did express criticism for Sam's decision to leave Dean on his own on his first night back from Hell when he is being stalked by an unknown -omnipotent- entity. It was an interesting action on Sam's part, that I disagreed with, and I wanted to investigate what made him do it because it was left to our imagination.
What I wrote is only my opinion, and not meant to offend. I stand by my writing and by this story. Consequently, anonymous reviewer # 2, I feel that your Sam bias is showing because NEWSFLASH none of the opinions expressed in your review apply to my story but rather to general Sam hate that you might have encountered in the SPN community. I feel for you, because I see what a hard time Sam lovers are having right now. Nonetheless, the place to vent your justified frustrations is not in an *anonymous* review to an innocent author.
Again, please don't take my defense of my story as anger. I am not upset by either of these two reviews and I'd be happy to discuss the story with either of you. Nothing thrills me more than seeing that my story gets people thinking!
