I don't think I can take the fact that each episode keeps getting better and better. My heart might explode from SQUEE.

It was interesting to see that past!Dean assumed that Cas would be the most important person to future!Dean, the person the he would want to protect the most. For me this came through most clearly when future!Dean revealed to past!Dean that he was going to send people to die as decoys and p!Dean said, "Even Cas?"
SO GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW THAT. "Even Cas?" That just... I mean, it speaks volumes, regardless of how you choose to look at it, doesn't it? Clearly, they are important to one another - even to Past!Dean. This makes me happy. I am pleased.

Why has no one nominated Jensen Ackles for an Emmy yet?
Amen! I was so impressed with his acting in this episode - particularly that scene; he really stepped it up. I think that may have added to the initially awkward appearance of Sam!Lucy; Jensen was just so on, poor Jared had a hard time matching it.

"Don't ever change." Do I even need to tell you what my reaction was? No, okay. I'm sorry if I broke anyone's windows. I wont go into the semi-hug that happened after, I'm not ( ... )

I feel that way all the time . . . I practically wince when there's the rare scene with Dean, Cas, and Sam because then it really -really- shows at times that JP is still growing as an actor.

This ship is so canon. That was a really, really touching scene - you're right, it was tender.

It was one of the most poignant moments that I've seen on show in a while.

what I liked about the 'even Cas?' question was how f!Dean seemed a but guilty and sad after that - like he didn't like it or something....

as usual, the ep. made me half-incoherent, so I'm not sure if I'm making any sense...

and the 'don't ever change' *sigh* Dean looked so grateful and Cas so full of devotion -- that ship is so canon!
(though, Dean really is building up his courage to give him a hug, isns't he? first doing his buttons and his tie, now a clasp on teh shoulder - give him two more eps. and he might even manage that hug we're waiting for *G*)

Yes, I totally agree with that. F!Dean was affected by it, even if he pushed it aside because he felt he had to.

I think you're right. Every episode he gets a little more comfortable with Castiel, a little more touchy, even, and I think that, at some point, the hug will come. And I can wait all season for it, as long as we get it. XD We know he wants to, he just needs to man up and do it already!

poor, poor f!Dean,knowing that he had failed so completely and being unable to change anything. that scene where he begged p!Dean to say yes, and then was all defeated, because he knew that he wouldn't say it...

YES! Though, IMO, in Dean-language the shoulder suqeeze was the equivalent of a bear hug. LOL

Totally, but an actual hug wouldnt be bad...

(although I could wait all season - while keeping my fingers crossed for a happy ending where they dont all die like in 2014...
which reminds me: even though I thoughtit was bad of Dean to send Cas (and teh rest of his friends) in as decoys, at least no one survived - and, well, imagine if Cas had stayed back at the camp and then found out that Dean was dead and teh war over? broken wouldn't begin to cover how he would be....)

I think that Dean knew both he and the decoys were gonna die and he just wanted past!Dean to see what everything would come too. Lets be honest, how do you sneak up and shoot the Devil?
