FINALLY the happy announcement....
I have been offered a staff job as a stitcher at the Guthrie!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I've accepted. And yes, I've known about this for three weeks, but it was just announced today, so now all if official and such.
For those of you who don't know, full-time staff jobs in costume shops open up about once every two-three years in the Twin Cities. While it is possible to make a living doing overhire (myself and several others do this), this means I"m not looking for a job every couple months. I get full benefits, instead of having to pay 60% of my health insurance. The $3 a hour raise doesn't hurt, either. So, yes, this is a big deal, the kind of job I've been dreaming about since college, not to mention at (not to knock anywhere else in town, but, you know...) THE GUTHRIE. (People still think CTC is like community theater)
But no, unlike everyone else in the world who's been married more than five minutes, I'M NOT PREGNANT!
