Hints to Jo/Anna - Vicking!Jo - PG

Um - yes, so I wrote something about the Winchester’s being Vikings and Jo was Dean’s second-in-command. I never posted the whole fic but I think Viking Jo deserves her own post.

Jo is the best fighter in the hoard. No one denies this even when they grumble about the fact that she is a girl and should be restricting herself to something more fitting like being a healer. Her mother was a healer after all but Ellen was also a fearsome warrior and she raised her daughter well. Besides, Sam is their healer. He’s the one who cares about mixing herbs and brewing teas. Jo doesn’t have the time to do that. Not when there are lands to plunder, not when there is gold to be taken and slaves to be captured.

And not when there is food that needs to be trapped. She can bring down a deer with a shot from her bow and she sets traps for rabbits like no one else. Her homestead is covered in the warm skins of the beasts she’s bought down. Her cloak is lined with rabbit fur and she sleeps under a blanket of warmest wolf skin. Jo did not need any man to catch them for her; she did not need any man to warm her bed.

She has a pretty slave - a nun - and Jo despises any religion that would have a girl so pretty hide her flowing red hair under a habit of white. When she brings home her kills she has the girl prepare them. She skins rare a pair of black rabbits to make warm gloves for her slave; makes her a line cloak just as hers and warms her in the night under the wolf skin blanket.

And since Jo is the finest warrior no one questions her choices.

Woman Warrior Jo! I enjoyed this very much. Strong women fics make me happy. I love that you do drabbles to combat all the fandom hate.

Uh. Where is this Viking!Winchester fic of which you speak?

It's so much healthier to write fic then get involved in wank, I think. Also, it makes everyone else happy so I'm very pleased about that. I'm glad you liked warrior woman Jo!

I love the idea of Viking!Jo as the second in command to Dean. Not only could they make a nice team, I love seeing Jo be BAMF and not apologising for her choices.

They would make an excellent team. In the not up fic Jo and Dean go off to hunt for stolen Sam because she's the one Dean trusts. I love her being BAMF and not apologizing.
