She’s very grateful to the angel who raised them.
She’s less grateful that he bought Adam’s half-brothers into their lives. Sam she likes. He’s the thoughtful kind of man who always asks after her and clears the dishes after dinner without having to be asked. He’s smart and sweet and reminds her of all of Adam’s good qualities. Dean she likes a lot less. He resents her because of her fling with his father and he resents Adam for existing. If Sam wasn’t so nice and Adam wasn’t so pleased to have another part of his family to connect with, a piece of his father, then she wouldn’t let Dean in the house.
When she finds him getting drunk in her kitchen she grits her teeth but doesn’t say anything.
Dean takes a swig of his beer and leers at her. “You know, I think I see what my dad saw in you.” He says and Kate slams the fridge door because she is not putting up with this behaviour under her own roof.
“Really?” She says, raising an eyebrow. “Because I remember your father Dean and you are certainly his son. He sat around getting drunk all day too and hitting on women who should never have given him the time of day. I fell for it once but you’re nowhere near as handsome as your dad was.” She took the beer from his hand and poured it down the sink. “Go outside, sober up and shape up if you want to be part of Adam’s life and don’t you ever hit on me again.”
She held the back door open and seeing Dean Winchester slink off outside was one of the most gratifying moments of her new life.
