As you probably noticed, bellamhc has gotten a makeover. (The website got a makeover, too...) As you reorient yourselves to the new layout, I want to remind old-timers and share with newcomers a few things. Yes, this would be the post of community "rules" (which are more like guidelines that I would appreciate people following).
1) We love tags. Tags keep journals organized, and organized journals are happy journals. ^_^ Therefore, please keep our journal happy and use tags. If you are new to LJ and do not know how to use tags, then I would like to direct your attention to a particular part of the
LiveJournal FAQ.
Below is a list of tags. Hopefully, the tags are self-explanatory, but if you are not sure which tag to use, that's okay--we fully support wild guesses. There is no punishment for using the wrong tag, I promise. :P

- anime convention
- conbust*
- elections
- event (for events that don't fit under any other event tag)
- gygo**

* Conbust - Smith College's annual sci-fi/fantasy convention, held in the spring.
** GYGO - "Get Your Geek On!", a dance co-hosted with our "sister" (and fellow geek) club, Renegades, Inc.
† Doujinshi (fan comics) would be included under the "art/fan art" tag, not in the "manga/books" tag.
†† If you have neither seen nor heard of "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series" or "Naruto The Abridged Series," then go google them. Now.
2) If your entry is massively long, please use an LJ-cut. LJ-cuts are wonderful, and keep members' Friends Pages from being ambushed by huge chunks of text. If you do not know what an LJ-cut is or how to use it, then please consult the
LiveJournal FAQ. (The above list of tags, by the way, is under an LJ-cut.)
3) If your entry contains content--links, images, video--that might possibility incur the wrath of Big Brother Watching Us, your entry must be "members only." Entries that contain such content but are not marked "members only" (the community equivalent of making a personal journal entry "friends only") will be rejected.
That's it! If you have any questions or are confused in any way, please do not hesitate to ask. ^_^
