Hello, Bella! I have a couple of announcements for you today:
LIBRARIAN JOB:
Although I mentioned it last night, this is an announcement that the position of LIBRARIAN is now open among the Bella officers. The Bellatrix library has been neglected for about two years, and we would like to see it running again.
The job would basically consist of organizing our books, cataloguing them on "Library Thing" (an online, inexpensive, really simple catalogue system that we are thinking of investing in), and being available for certain scheduled hours every week to let people come and get the books they want. This would not be a huge time commitment--after the initial cataloguing, only a couple hours a week--and we are interested in the prospect of co-librarians to ease the burden. ANIME BOSTON:
*We are going to begin booking and pricing for everyone going to Anime Boston in the next few days.
*Do not worry about luggage: there is underbus storage in Peter Pan buses. However, recall that we are going to be staying in a HOSTEL, in a sixteen-person room, likely with a bunch of strangers, so do not bring anything large and valuable with you. I.e., no laptops. We are a ways off, but it's important to be considering this now.
FUNDRAISER:
We would like to lower the cost of the Anime Boston trip for everyone, as well as get ourselves Library Thing, buy snacks, and, depending on spring releases, possibly plan a movie trip or two. It also might be nice to add to our poor library. That said, we need a FANTASTIC fundraiser.
Traditionally, Bella puts on a Book & Bake sale--which is what we're doing this year. The sale will be on March 30 (Friday) so we will be baking that Thursday. Again, I know this is a long time in advance, but NOW is the time to start thinking of things you'd like to donate. Donations can be geek themed, but they don't have to be. Here are some acceptable donations:
* BOOKS
* Movies
* CDs
* Figures, plushies, toys, etc.
* Posters, wallscrolls, pencil boards, etc.
Remember, Spring Break draws ever nearer! Remember, spring break is a great opportunity to raid your room for things you no longer desire! Remember, Bellatrix loves you. I love you. So bring things.
On that note, for now, please keep all donations in your room. We will be assembling them in a central site closer to the actual sale, so that no one ends up trapped in their room by boxes of books.
